Astro Manufacturing & Design delivers fast, accurate prototypes and models using advanced stereolithography technology. This rapid prototyping process creates a physical object from a 3-D CAD file by using a computer-controlled laser to cure photosensitive resin, layer by layer, creating a finished part literally in hours.
Not only is SLA a fast method for developing prototypes, it's highly accurate as well - boasting tolerances within 0.005". You can rest assured that your finished prototype will be crisp, accurate and highly detailed.

Rapid prototyping with SLA is ideal for concept models and master patterns for molding techniques. It is also a great way to test your product design before going into high volume production - where design flaws can be extremely costly. With SLA , Astro can debug any design flaws prior to investing in tooling, molds, materials and production start-up.
Astro will work closely with you throughout your project. Our experienced rapid prototyping personnel can analyze your product for form, fit and function. Then, they can make suggestions that will help select the appropriate rapid prototyping technology and material to optimize your product's marketability and manufacturability.

    Stereolithography (SLA) Materials
    • RenShape SL 5220 reduces build time and substantially increases throughput. SL 5220 is designed for quick, accurate and rigid parts. In addition to high accuracy and rigidity, SL 5220 offers improved vertical wall smoothness for high quality finish.
    • RenShape SL 7545 creates parts with near end-use plastic properties requiring minimal post-processing. More than any other rapid prototyping material, SL 7545 offers the best combination of durability, accuracy and build speed.
    • RenShape 7580 is a durable SLA material that simulates ABS. Good durability, stable with time, high rigidity, good temperature performance, improved side walls with fine features and excellent for RTV patterns.
    • RenShape 5240 is a durable SLA material that simulates Polypropylene. This is a high durability material that is accurate and has a wide process latitude. Excellent side walls and fine features for polypropylene-like parts. Best-in-class elongation at break for functional parts and also suitable for snap-fit parts.
