In comparison to other costly molding processes, Astro offers vacuum and thermoforming services that can significantly lower product and associated tooling costs. Vacuum Forming allows for high strength to weight ratios, efficient and quick prototyping and effective color and texture forming. Astro's highly skilled vacuum formers and technicians combine the skills of vacuum forming with the advantages of 3-D design software to provide you with precision products at competitive prices. We have the capacity for both small and large production runs and we can form products using a variety of materials, including clear and translucent plastics. Over the years, we have helped companies produce a number of innovative products, including control panels, consumer products and components for the medical industry in both short and large production runs.
Whether your product requires twin sheet, pressure or vacuum forming, Astro Manufacturing & Design has the in-house capabilities to cost-effectively produce your parts.
Our collection of thermoforming equipment includes single station machines, 3 or 4 station rotary machines and a double-ender, twin sheet machine (for pressure forming). This equipment can cost-effectively perform large production runs, completing all of the basic thermoforming phases simultaneously to reduce turnaround time. Furthermore, this advanced machinery enables us to provide high quality parts at competitive prices.
Our single station thermoforming machines lower production costs by providing quick setup times and fast turnaround on orders up to 500 parts. Using our John Brown shuttle thermoforming machine, we can form large parts up to 11'. The Triple-A, double ender twin-sheet thermoforming machine used by Astro allows for greater flexibility in part design, increased production capacity and significant cost-savings.
With our vast in-house resources, we can manage your vacuum form project from concept sketches through completion. From your project's inception, we'll focus on your product's overall marketability and manufacturability.
