Stereolithography (SLA)


Astro Manufacturing & Design delivers fast, accurate prototypes and models using advanced stereolithography technology. This rapid prototyping process creates a physical object from a 3-D CAD file by using a computer-controlled laser to cure photosensitive resin, layer by layer, creating a finished part literally in hours.
Not only is SLA a fast method for developing prototypes, it's highly accurate as well - boasting tolerances within 0.005". You can rest assured that your finished prototype will be crisp, accurate and highly detailed.

Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)


For prototypes or models that require durability and high heat deflection temperature, Astro offers selective laser sintering services that quickly and cost effectively create parts from your 3-D files. Selective laser sintering (SLS) uses a CO2 laser to fuse powder-based materials together, layer-by-layer, creating a solid object within hours.
Sintered prototypes are perfect for functional testing of almost any application, and they closely represent the physical properties of the production material. Astro's SLS machinery can create highly complex parts with a wide variety of materials.
